Hudson Boosters Traveling Softball

This program is geared for those players who wish to regularly compete at a higher level of competition against teams from other communities.  Traveling softball requires significant time from both players and parents, from April thru July.  Every player's presence is important. Each player is expected to attend all practices, league games and tournament games.

Program overview & eligibility requirements

  • The Hudson Booster Program is for children in the Hudson School District that are not members of another softball team, whose games and/or practices would conflict with the Hudson Booster Program.
  • There is no “equal playing time” rule, but unless there are special circumstances, all team members will participate in every game.
  • There is no guarantee of participating in the Traveling Program if registration is received after try-outs are held.
  • If a player is not selected for a Traveling Team, the player will be encouraged to participate in the In House Program.
  • If you are not sure which age level a player is eligible for, look at the AGE CHART below.

Tryout Process

Each fall, we conduct tryouts using outside unbiased softball evaluators.  By registering for tryouts, there is NO guarantee of being placed on team.  The tryout fee is non-refundable.

  • Placement on teams will be determined by tryout evaluations, previous coaches input and pitching / catching needs.
  • Any player who does not make a traveling team will have the opportunity to play In-House Softball, but they must complete the registration process for the In-House program.

2025 Traveling Softball tryouts are scheduled for October 5th.  Visit the tryout information page for more information.

Age/Level Eligibility

A player of 10U and older may be allowed to play in the age group directly above their actual age, if all of the following 4 conditions are met

  1. At least 15 players are participating in the tryout for the older age group.
  2. The younger player scores in the top 5% of their current age group.
  3. The younger player participates in her current age group's try-out.
  4. The player selection committee agrees that moving the player up would be in the best interest of the program.

Players should not try-out for an older age group unless they feel qualified and desire to play with older girls.
