Baseball Programs - Overview

The Hudson Boosters provide baseball team opportunities for ages pre-K (5 yr olds who will enroll in Kindergarten in the Fall) through high school and for all skill levels. Opportunities include:

In-house Program

  • Pre-K (Will be entering Kindergarten in the Fall) through 8th grade (see chart on program page for leagues by age)
  • Focus on skill development, learning the game.
  • "Play with" and "Car Pool" requests will be noted, but are not guaranteed.
  • No try outs, all players will be placed on teams.
  • Opportunity for players in the Junior and Senior Leagues to participate on an In-House tournament team that plays against teams from other communities. (additional fee)
  • Players in the Major League play against other teams from Hudson and teams from New Richmond, Somerset, St. Croix Central, Ellsworth, River Falls, and Prescott.
  • For the Junior, Senior, and Major Leagues, the pre-season practices start around the last week in April or first week of May.  Games start around the 4th week of May and continue until the end of year tournaments around the last week in July.
  • For the T-Ball and Machine Pitch leagues, the pre-season practices begin around the 3rd week in May.  Games start on the Monday after Memorial Day and continue until the end of the 2nd week of July.

Traveling Program 

  • 10 yr old through 19 yr old (see chart on program page for team level by age)
  • Try outs for teams, more focus on positional specialties, especially at the older levels
  • Requires a high degree of committment by both players and parents.
  • Weekend tournament expectations

Parent Information

Please see the Baseball-Softball Equipment Regulations document below.  If you have any questions, please ask the salesperson if the equipment you will be purchasing is legal for the upcoming season.  For bats, look for the stamp on the bat that confirms this.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION BELOW

Traveling Players:

  • Starting in 2018, all Traveling players must use USA Baseball approved bats.  Look for the "USA Baseball" stamp on the bat.
  • Boys Traveling players must provide their own bats and batting helmets.

In House tournament and Select teams:

  • Starting in 2018, all In House players participating on a tournament team or "Select" team must use USA Baseball approved bats.  Look for the "USA Baseball" stamp on the bat.
