Tryout dates and times will be posted on the Hudson Booster web calendar.

The Hudson Booster Competitive Program is geared for those players who wish to regularly compete at a higher level of competition against teams from other communities.   The Competitive Program requires a strong commitment to both practice and games.   There is no “equal playing time” rule, but unless there are special circumstances, all team members will participate in every game.

A skills evaluation process determines placement on a Hudson Booster Competitive program.   A selection committee appointed by the Hudson Booster Baseball/Softball Committee will conduct the player evaluation.   Any person who has a daughter trying out for the particular age group being evaluated cannot be involved in the age evaluation.   The Selection Committee, on a case-by-case basis, will judge players who cannot attend the evaluation date(s) because of injury or sickness.   The Selection Committee approves the final team roosters.

If you are not sure which program a player is eligible for, look at the age chart.

A player of 10U and older, may be allowed to play in the age group directly above their actual age, if all of the following 4 conditions are met:
1) At least 15 players are participating in the tryout for the older age group.
2) The younger player scores within the top 4 players in the older age group's try-out.
3) The younger player participates in her current age group's try-out.
4) The player selection committee agrees that moving the player up would be in the best interest of the program.
-Players should not try-out for an older age group unless they feel qualified and desire to play with older girls.

The Hudson Booster Program is for children in the Hudson School District that are not members of another softball team, whose games and/or practices would conflict with the Hudson Booster Program.   There is no guarantee of participating in the Competitive Program if registration is received after try-outs are held.   If a player is not selected for a Competitive Team, the player will be encouraged to participate in the Recreational Program.

Hudson Booster clinics, and registration will be advertised in the Hudson Star Observer Newspaper as well as being posted on the Hudsonbooster.org website calendar.
